Stallion fees for Three Chimneys Farm's 2017 roster will remain largely unchanged, with the exception of Sky Mesa , according to a Nov. 2 announcement.
"We have been delighted with the response from breeders to the reinvigorated roster at Three Chimneys, and our commitment to making sure we price them competitively, so that our clients can be successful in the long term, is very important to our team," said Grant Williamson, the farm's director of stallion nominations and sales. "Sky Mesa is a proven sire of stakes horses, and with nine individual stakes winners in 2016, including Thundering Sky and My Impression."
He noted that Sky Mesa is tied by number of 2016 stakes winners this year with Lemon Drop Kid and ahead of Pioneerof the Nile , Ghostzapper , and Congrats .
"Sky Mesa is also represented by grade I-placed Highland Sky and Breeders' Cup-bound Happy Mesa," Williamson said. "In a very competitive market, we feel he offers exceptional value."
Leading the roster is 2013 champion 3-year-old colt Will Take Charge , whose fee remains at $30,000.
"Young guns Will Take Charge and Strong Mandate have their first crop of weanlings in the November sales, and we are excited for breeders to showcase some exceptional types to buyers," Williamson said. "Palace Malice and Fast Anna were met with a great reception in 2016 and have let down into stunning horses. I would invite any breeder who has yet to see them to visit during the sales. You won't be disappointed."
