Victory to Victory won't run in the Breeders' Cup

Natalma Stakes (Can-IT) winner Victory to Victory will not run in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies Turf (gr. IT), trainer Mark Casse said the morning of the Nov. 4 event.

Live Oak Plantation's homebred Exchange Rate   filly popped a splint and will require a few weeks off.

"She popped a splint a couple days ago, it's nothing serious but it was just irritating her some," Casse said. "After a conversation with (Live Oak owner) Mrs. (Charlotte) Weber, we decided she's just too good a horse. The good news is, you're talking a couple weeks (off). It's just bad timing is all."

Casse added his other Breeders' Cup horses, led by defending Breeders' Cup Mile (gr. IT) winner Tepin, were doing well heading into the Friday-Saturday cards. Team Casse still has JPMorgan Chase Jessamine (gr. IIIT) winner La Coronel in the Juvenile Fillies Turf.

Wesley Ward trainee Con Te Partiro was also scratched from the Juvenile Fillies Turf. With the defections, Sweeping Paddy, most recently fourth in the Jessamine Stakes, will draw into the field.
