Vanish wins the Clarendon Stakes at Woodbine.

Claiborne Farm's freshman sire Algorithms   joined the ranks of stakes-producing sires when his son Vanish won the Clarendon Stakes by a nose Nov. 5 at Woodbine.

Hope Stock Farm in Ontario bred the chestnut colt out of the winning Elusive Quality   mare Elusive Hope. Vanish is his dam's first stakes winner and second black-type runner along with stakes-placed Evangeline's Hope (City Zip  ).

Vanish was a $19,000 buy-back at the 2015 Keeneland September sale and then sold for $110,000 to agent QRF out of Julie Davies' consignment at this year's Ocala Breeders' Sales April 2-year-olds in training sale.

The colt is raced by Gary Barber and trained by Mark Casse, the same owner/trainer team that raced Canadian 2014 Horse of the Year, 3-year-old champion filly, and champion grass mare Lexie Lou.

The six-furlong Clarendon was Vanish's second lifetime start. He finished second is his debut Sept. 17 at Woodbine in a six-furlong, $55,900 maiden special weight. His earnings now total $77,305.

Algorithms is a grade III winner out of Avaknowsthecode and a half brother to graded stakes winners Justin Phillip   and Greenpointcrusader (both grade I winners), Keyed Entry, and Successful Mission. He was ranked 16th on the leading freshman sire list through Oct. 4 and Vanish's win will likely move him up a couple positions.

The 7-year-old son of Bernardini   will stand at Claiborne for $7,500 in 2017.
