China Horse Club's Michael Wallace signed a ticket for $2.4 million to acquire Embellish the Lace at the Fasig-Tipton November sale Nov. 7 in Lexington.
The grade I-winning daughter of Super Saver was bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm and acquired by Alex and Jo Ann Lieblong for $320,000 at the 2013 Keeneland September yearling sale. At 3 she won the grade I Alabama Stakes and would be later retired due to a leg injury. Embellish the Lace was offered at the 2015 Fasig-Tipton November sale when she was bought back at $1.9 million.
Embellish the Lace is out of the stakes-placed Distant View mare Expanse, who is the dam of 2010 Travers Stakes (gr. I) winner Afleet Express and multiple stakes winner Reporting for Duty.
This year, the 4-year-old filly is believed to be in foal to top second-crop sire Uncle Mo .
