2016 Fasig-Tipton November Sale
Multiple grade I winner Stopchargingmaria is the first mare to break the $2 million mark at the Fasig-Tipton November sale Nov. 7 in Lexington. The broodmare prospect by Tale of the Cat sold for $2.8 million to Three Chimneys Farm. She was offered by the Taylor Made Sales Agency.
"Obviously she was a top class filly," said Jacob West, director of bloodstock for Three Chimneys. "I worked for Taylor Made when Repole tried to sell her the first time. Town & Country bought her, they did everything right, they did everything that they could, she rewarded them by winning the (2015 BC) Distaff, she beat a litany of fillies in the Distaff that were just incredible. The race record speaks for itself, the pedigree speaks for itself: Tale of the Cat—Exotic Bloom. We’re just excited to have her."
West said he did not know whether a decision had been about who she would be bred to, but he was certain it would be a top-class stallion.
About her price, he said what they paid was in the ball park.
"You have to pay for the good ones and she is a good one," he said.
