True Sweetheart is the first winner for Uptowncharleybrown

True Sweetheart wired a field of 11 2-year-old fillies at first asking Nov. 8 at Parx Racing, becoming the first winner for her sire, Uptowncharlybrown  , with an emphatic 10-length victory.

Bred in Pennsylvania by Fantasy Lane Stable out of the Malibu Moon   mare Moonlight Serenade, True Sweetheart is trained by Edward J. Coletti Jr., and raced for her breeder for a $20,000 tag. She won the six-furlong dirt maiden claiming event in a final time of 1:12.76 on a fast track, with jockey Lery Pinero in the irons.

"This is Uptowncharlybrown's first crop and we don't have a lot of them, but this one won at first asking and we knew she was that good, but we also knew she could get away with it because nobody knew who Uptowncharlybrown was," said Fantasy Lane owner and president, Bob Hutt. "She'll never be in a claiming race again."

Uptowncharlybrown, by Limehouse, raced for Fantasy Lane and the late Alan Seewald to win the 2010 Pasco Stakes at Tampa Bay Downs. He entered stud in 2013 and stood the past two seasons at Diamond B Farm in Pennsylvania for a $1,500 fee, pay when you win.

"We believe in the stallion that much and now finally we're getting a chance to show how great he is," Hutt said. "We're very, very happy today and hope that's his first of many winners."
