Ithinkisawapudycat, the dam of grade I winner Sweet Loretta, was for $2.2 million

Ithinkisawapudycat, the dam of grade I winner Sweet Loretta, was purchased by Marette Farrell, agent for Mt. Brilliant Farm, for $2.2 million near the end of the second session of Keeneland’s November breeding stock sale.

Consigned by Bryan and Gray Lyster’s Ashview Farm, the 7-year-old daughter of Bluegrass Cat   was sold in foal to Constitution  . Sweet Loretta, a Tapit filly and the first foal out of the mare who was sold for $750,000 as a weanling at Keeneland in 2014, won this year’s Spinaway Stakes (gr. I) and Schuylerville Stakes (gr. II), both at Saratoga Race Course.

"We were happy to get her. This is the one we wanted so it's great," said Greg Goodman of Mt. Brilliant Farm. "She was great looking and also she's already the dam of a grade I horse. We only had about 3-4 mares that we liked in the sale and she was at the top of our list."

Goodman added that the bay mare would likely be bred back to Tapit.

Produced from the Unbridled mare Unrbidled Run, Ithinkisawapudycat is a half sister to Canadian champion Spring In The Air. Included in the extended female family are group I winner Palace Episode and millionaire grade II winner Tejano Run, among others.

Bred in Kentucky by WinStar Farm, Ithinkisawapudycat was bought by Ashview for $240,000 from the Mark Toothaker consignment to Keeneland’s 2012 November sale.
