True Cinder wins at Mahoning Valley Race Course Nov. 14

Ohio freshman sire Alcindor  , who already had two black-type runners in his limited first crop, finally got his first winner when True Cinder won by 12 lengths at Mahoning Valley Race Course Nov. 14.

True Cinder, a filly out of Be True, by Shakespeare, was bred in Ohio by Larry Byer and is owned by Michael Rone. She finished fourth in her first start July 1 then went on to place in three stakes—the Miss Ohio Stakes, Tah Dah Stakes, and the Emerald Necklace Stakes. True Cinder, one of nine foals in Alcindor's first crop, has now earned nearly $54,000.

Alcindor (Unbridled's Song—Zing, by Storm Cat), is a winning full brother to graded stakes winner and sire Half Ours  . He raced only three times for trainer Bob Baffert as part of the Thoroughbred Legends Racing Stable. He now stands at Byerpatch Farm near Lebanon, Ohio, for a private fee.
