Stuart S. Janney III's homebred graded stakes winner Norumbega will stand in 2017 at Bonita Farm, near Darlington, Md. The 6-year-old son of Tiznow   will stand for $3,000, live foal stands and nurses.

Norumbega won in his second start at 2, was graded-placed at 3, and started only in graded company at 4, when he won the Brooklyn Invitational Handicap (gr. II) and finished second in the Skip Away Stakes (gr. III).

In the 1 1/2-mile Brooklyn, Norumbega won by a neck over Micromanage   in 2:27.13, which was more than a second faster than Tonalist   ran the same distance in the 2014 Belmont Stakes (gr. I). Norumbega won or placed in eight of 19 starts and earned $521,645.

Meghan's Joy, Norumbega's dam, is a stakes-placed daughter of A.P. Indy and represents one of the most active female lines in North America. She has produced five graded stakes winners, led by millionaire and multiple grade II winner Ironicus   (Distorted Humor  ), who recently retired to stud at Claiborne Farm near Paris, Ky. The other graded stakes winners are Hunting (Coronado's Quest), Quiet Harbor (Silver Deputy), and On Leave (War Front  ).

Meghan's Joy's family traces back to Rokeby Farm's blue hen mare Glowing Tribute through graded winner Wild Applause (Northern Dancer).
