Flintshire's Stud Fee Set at $20,000

Hill 'n' Dale Farms announced Nov. 14 Juddmonte's homebred and leading turf horse Flintshire will stand the 2017 breeding season for a fee of $20,000, live foal stands and nurses.
The son of Dansili finished first or second in 14 group/grade I events on three different continents and bumped his earnings over $9.5 million with a second place finish to Highland Reel in the Longines Breeders' Cup Turf (gr. IT).
He won a total of five group/grade I races: the Grand Prix de Paris at Longchamp in France, Hong Kong Vase at Sha Tin in Hong Kong, the Sword Dancer Stakes twice at Saratoga Race Course, and the Woodford Reserve Manhattan at Belmont Park.
It had been announced Nov. 3, just prior to the Breeders' Cup, that a partnership including Hill 'n' Dale Farms, S.F. Bloodstock, China Horse Club, and Juddmonte Farms had been formed to stand the stallion.
Garrett O'Rourke, general manager of Juddmonte's operation near Lexington, said Flintshire embodies the goal of Prince Khalid Abdullah's breeding program.
"He is by our most accomplished stallion, from one of our best families," O'Rourke said. "He is our leading earner ever and one of the soundest and most honest horses we have ever raced. He has a regal temperament and a will to win that shows in his scintillating turn of foot. We are very proud of him."
Flintshire is out of the group II winner and group I-placed Dance Routine, a British-bred daughter of Sadler's Wells.
