Monmouth Park is pleased to announce that Mike Vukcevich will join the company to complement its status as a regional and national industry leader. Vukcevich will assume the position of director of regulatory affairs effective Nov. 28, 2016.
"Mike's experience and demonstrated commitment to racing makes him a great addition to the Monmouth Park team," said Dennis Drazin, advisor to Darby Development LLC, operators of the racetrack. "His hiring is reflective of our strong commitment to enhancing our status as a destination site for exceptional family entertainment, dining, and gaming experiences.
"The well-received innovations we put in place since assuming responsibility for the track's operation in 2012, and our future planned initiatives, led us to search for an addition to our staff who would fit in with these company values. We are pleased that we were able to find someone with Mike's background and work ethic to assist us in this mission. I am confident that he will enhance our ability to continue on our path of implementing high quality and state-of-the-art innovations for our customers."
Within his new role, Vukcevich will assist Monmouth Park in ensuring the racetrack's continued compliance with governmental operational requirements, and among other things, in moving forward with the overall plan of a continued expansion of family entertainment and wagering opportunities for our patrons.
"I am eager to begin this new opportunity and look forward to working with the Monmouth team to further develop their already extensive customer experience," said Vukcevich, a 59-year-old native of Whiting, N.J. "I am fortunate to be joining such a progressive and respected company, which prides itself in providing a first class level of customer amenities."
Vukcevich comes with a wealth of relevant experience, having served the State of New Jersey, through its Department of Law & Public Safety ("Department"), in a distinguished career of 34 years. As Deputy Director of the New Jersey Racing Commission for the last 22 of those years, in addition to advising the Commission and supervising its staff, Vukcevich was instrumental in bringing forward many industry advancements including off-track wagering, internet/telephone betting, casino simulcasting, and exchange wagering. Vukcevich's innovative work with the Commission was recognized with the Department's "Exceptional Service Award" for outstanding job performance.
Prior to his tenure with the Racing Commission, and following his graduation from the Temple University School of Law in 1980, Mike served as a Deputy Attorney General with the Department's Divisions of Criminal Justice and Gaming Enforcement. In those capacities, Vukcevich supervised and handled significant criminal prosecutions and regulatory enforcement actions in various areas, including numerous matters involving the enforcement of the State's legalized gaming laws.
