With the Triple Crown trail continuing to fade in the rear-view mirror Colts Neck Stables' Awesome Speed will look to recapture his early season form Nov. 23 in the $200,000 Fabulous Strike Handicap at Penn National Race Course.
The Awesome Again colt trained by Alan Goldberg returned from a four-month layoff to run fourth in the Gallant Bob Stakes (gr. III) at Parx Racing, which followed his ninth-place run in the Preakness Stakes (gr. I).
Prior to the Preakness, Awesome Speed won the Federico Tesio Stakes and the Mucho Macho Man Stakes, along with a fourth in the Xpressbet.com Fountain of Youth (gr. II).
BALAN: Tesio DQ Goes in Awesome Speed's Favor
There are six stakes winners in the field of 11 for the six-furlong sprint, but only one has graded stakes-winning credentials—Barbara Hopkins' Trouble Kid.
The 2015 Gallant Bob victor won his last start Nov. 1, a six-furlong Parx allowance, by 11 1/2 lengths and drew the outside post for the Fabulous Strike as the field's second choice at 5-1 on the morning line.

Morning-line favoritism goes to Red and Black Stables' Weekend Hideaway at 3-1. The Philip Serpe-trained, 6-year-old Speightstown horse ran second last time out in the Hudson Handicap at Belmont Park Oct. 22, but earned a grade I placing a start prior with a third-place run in the Oct. 1 Vosburgh (gr. I), where he finished just two lengths behind Joking.
