Fred Alexander of A & A Ranch near Anthony, N.M., announced the addition of multiple graded stakes-placed Marking to the 2017 stallion roster.

"We are thrilled and believe Marking is one of the most exciting stallion prospects to ever come to New Mexico." Alexander added. "His dam, Seventh Street, was a $1 million 2-year-old and a multiple grade I stakes winner."

In his debut at Belmont Park, Marking won at 6 1/2 furlongs and then went on to win his next start at a mile by 5 1/2 lengths. The son of Bernardini was second in the 2015 edition of the Malibu Stakes (gr. I) to eventual champion sprinter Runhappy and finished fourth in the Mohegan Sun Metroploitan Mile (gr. I) to multiple grade I winner Frosted  . In that race he defeated eventual Breeders' Cup Sprint (gr. I) winner Tamarkuz  .

Bred by Darley in Kentucky and campaigned under Godolphin Racing, Marking was runner up in the Belmont Sprint Championship Stakes (gr. III) by a head to multiple graded stakes winner A.P. Indian.

Marking retires with career earnings of $426,200 and will stand for $3,500 live foal. He joins New Mexico's Leading Sire Attila's Storm and 2015 Leading Sire Diabolical, as well as Archwarrior, Roll Hennessey Roll, and Southwestern Heat.
