Following the Nov. 19 penultimate session of the 13-day Keeneland November breeding stock sale, the auction is on nearly even terms with the 2015 stand that totaled 12 days, with gross receipts down 2% and the average price almost identical.

Going into the Sunday finale, Keeneland reported 2,531 horses sold for $214,603,100, compared with the $218,959,400 for 2,575 horses sold through the same number of sessions a year ago. The average of $84,790 is just below last year's $85,033, while the median of $30,000 remains the same from 2015. From 4,502 cataloged through Saturday's session, 950 head had been bought back for an RNA rate of 27.3% and 1,021 had been withdrawn before going through the ring.

On Saturday, Keeneland sold 149 horses for $918,900, down 24.6% from the 200 sold last year for $1,219,400. The average of $6,167 was just above last year's $6,097 and the median of $3,700 remained unchanged from 2015.

Lady Susan, a Pleasant Tap mare in foal to Point of Entry  , was purchased by Adel M. Alataway for $42,000 to top the session. Consigned by Adena Springs, Lady Susan earned $114,196 while racing from ages 3 to 7, with eight wins and 14 placings to her credit.

The 8-year-old mare is out of the stakes-placed Regal Classic mare Georgiana Lake, and from the family of grade I winners Magazine and Relaxed Gesture. She sold with a no-guarantee season to Awesome Again  , who stands at Adena Springs, the Frank Stronach-owned farm that sold 17 horses for $189,700 to be the session's leading consignor.

At $40,000, the second highest seller was the winning 4-year-old Bertrando gelding Portando purchased by Three Diamonds Farm. Gainesway, agent, consigned Portando, who is out of the multiple stakes-winning Choisir mare Porto Marmay and from the family of four-time Hong Kong champion River Verdon.

Leading buyer K.O.I.D., a South Korean entity, purchased six horses for $52,500.

The final session of the November sale begins Sunday at 10 a.m. ET. The sale is streamed live on Keeneland.com
