Jockey Angel Rodriguez secured the 1,000th victory of his career Nov. 23 when he rallied from fourth aboard Dr. Toole to win the ninth race Nov. 23 at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course.
The victory is recognized as the milestone win for Rodriguez, although he also recorded two wins in Puerto Rico not included in the total.
Owned by Triple K Stables and trained by Jamie Ness, Dr. Toole completed the 1 1/16-mile claiming race in 1:47.
Some of the top career wins for Rodriguez include riding Jet Away Jane to four stakes wins in 2008 and last year aboard Amplified when he won the Danzig Stakes for a third time at Penn National.
