Jockey Israel Ocampo gained his 1,000th career victory when he scored on Nov. 25 aboard One Last Knight at Remington Park.

Ocampo rode One Last Knight to the gelding's first career victory in the sixth race on Friday, a $20,000-level maiden claiming event. Ocampo gave an excited fist-pump and arm-wave as they passed the finish line in the easy victory, winning by five lengths in the 5-1/2 furlong race.

“I want to thank my family, they’ve been a great support for me, and every owner and every trainer who gave me an opportunity," Ocampo said. "I really appreciate it.”

One Last Knight is owned by Theresa Hanson and Brenda Reiswig of Pierre, S.D. and is trained by Victor Hanson.

Ocampo has been a jockey since 2006, riding mainly in the Midwest with Oaklawn Park in Arkansas, Prairie Meadows in Iowa and Remington serving as his current year-round circuit.
