King and His Court won the Coronation Futurity on Nov. 13

Four stakes winners are among 10 freshmen signed up for the $125,000 Display Stakes at Woodbine Dec. 3 at 1 1/16 miles over the all-weather surface.

Owner Gary Barber and trainer Mark Casse will team up to send out a pair of contenders. Vanish, who won the Nov. 5 Clarendon Stakes by a nose to break his maiden, comes back here and has shown a stalking style in two races to date, both at six furlongs. Barber also co-owns the Casse-trained King and His Court with Wachtel Stable. King and His Court took the restricted Coronation Futurity last out at nine furlongs. He previously placed in the Grey Stakes (Can-III) and is a late runner with eight races under his belt.

Pachi Cruze and Jurojin won restricted stakes events earlier in the season but have tailed off recently. Pachi Cruze was distanced in the Coronation Futurity five races after he won the Frost King Stakes in June. Jurojin has failed to repeat after his score in the Sept. 25 Kingarvie Stakes and was badly outrun in his last pair of starts.

Recoil is one of only two horses in the field who has raced somewhere other than Woodbine. The son of Lonrho has had three starts at Laurel, where he won his maiden on the stretch out to 1 1/16 miles last out.

My Way Tapper showed a promising, breaking his maiden on first asking at six furlongs with a late run. The extra distance may help him further. Flowmotion has gone two turns twice, with a win and a close third, and has shown speed in both efforts. Stop Who's That is another late runner who scored at the Display distance last out.

Guy Caballero finished five lengths in arrears of King and His Court in the Coronation but has a two-turn win to his credit. Hemmin and Hawin went to the maiden claiming ranks to get his first win and will have to step his game up here.
