Saturday’s Grade 1 Hollywood Derby (6:30 p.m. ET) at Del Mar drew a very competitive field of 12 3-year-old turf horses and shapes up to be a very intriguing “East vs. West” matchup. Half of the field ships in to Del Mar from either New York (five horses) or Kentucky (one), while the remaining half-dozen have been knocking heads on the Southern California circuit over the past few months.
