U S Officer, Cool Arrow Set for Springboard

U S Officer wins Clever Trevor Stakes Nov. 4 at Remington Park.
A pair of 2-year-olds who already have open stakes victories over the Remington Park surface in U S Officer and Cool Arrow will face one another there Dec. 11 in the $300,000 Springboard Mile Stakes.
The one-mile test for juveniles has drawn an expected field of 12 and is one of five stakes on the program, the closing day of the Remington Thoroughbred meet.
After finishing seventh in the Kip Deville Stakes Sept. 25 at Remington won by Cool Arrow, Jerry Durant and Bill Jordan's U S Officer bounced back with two straight wins, including a 2 1/2-length score over Divine Kaleb in the $100,000 Clever Trevor Stakes there Nov. 4. He rallied from ninth to win that seven-furlong test.
A son of U S Ranger , U S Officer is trained by Danny Pish. He was bred in Kentucky by Durant.
Brad and Misty Grady's Cool Arrow returns to Remington where he won the six-furlong Kip Deville. Since that effort the son of Into Mischief stretched out to seven furlongs for the Spendthrift Stallion Stakes where he finished second Oct. 30 at Churchill Downs. Cool Arrow was bred in Kentucky by H. Allen Poindexter.
Trained by Joe Sharp, Cool Arrow will stretch out to one mile for the first time in the Springboard. He drew the field's outside post.
