Vincent Scuderi's multiple graded stakes winner Paulassilverlining is set to make her first start since finishing third in the Nov. 5 Breeders' Cup Filly & Mare Sprint (gr. I), headlining a field of seven going six furlongs over Aqueduct Racetrack's inner track Dec. 10 in the $125,000 Garland of Roses.
Trained by Michelle Nevin, the daughter of Ghostzapper boasts a 7-4-3 record in 17 stakes starts, including victories in 2016 in the Gallant Bloom Handicap (gr. II) and Distaff Handicap (gr. III).
Jose Ortiz, who rode the 4-year-old filly to stakes wins in the Distaff and Vagrancy Handicap (gr. III), will be back aboard Paulassilverlining, set to leave post 6 as the 123-pound highweight.
Others of interest include Leonard Green and Sean Shay's Kelsocait, a 3-year-old Drosselmeyer filly looking to rebound from a disappointing 13th following a stumble at the start of the Nov. 19 Safely Kept Stakes at Laurel Park; Gold Square's homebred Black Mission Fig, winner of the Dr. Teresa Garofalo Memorial at Parx Racing in September; and Kingsport Farm's supplemental nominee My Savannah Belle, fifth to Paulassilverlining this spring in her lone graded stakes start in the Distaff.
Rounding out the field are Disco Chick, third in the Oct. 30 Pumpkin Pie Stakes at Belmont Park; allowance winner Old Valyria, making her first start for Rudy Rodriguez; and allowance winner Callista in her stakes debut.
