Winter weather has forced at least three tracks to cancel their Dec. 15 race cards: Aqueduct Racetrack, Hollywood Casino at Charles Town Races, Turfway Park, and Hawthorne Race Course.
Because of extremely cold temperatures and forecasted high winds in the New York metropolitan area, the New York Racing Association cancelled Thursday’s live racing card at Aqueduct to ensure the safety of all participants. Simulcasting will remain open at Aqueduct.
Live racing is scheduled to resume Dec. 16, with a first post of 12:20 p.m.
Charles Town also cited cold temperatures and high winds in calling off its card. Live racing there is scheduled to resume Dec. 16 with a start time of 7 p.m. EST.
Due to expected frigid temperatures, Turfway canceled live racing for Dec. 15. The track will remain open for simulcasting. Live racing is expected to resume Dec. 16, at the usual first post of 6:15 p.m.
