Duncan Taylor, president and CEO of Taylor Made Farm was elected to the board of directors of Horse Country by the members of the organization at the annual business meeting Dec. 14. Taylor Made was an early member of Horse Country, which was incorporated in June 2014.
Taylor also serves on Keeneland's board of directors and the Keeneland executive board, as well as the board of directors for the Kentucky Equine Education Project (K.E.E.P.). He and his wife, Carol, have five children: Marshall, Morgan, Danny, Madeline and Caroline.
Since the not-for-profit organization began operating, the 36 member tour destinations—including farms, clinics, and even a feed mill—have hosted more than 25,000 tour guests from 49 states and five countries.
Brutus Clay, president of Runnymede Farm near Paris, Ky., and Mary Quinn Ramer, president of VisitLEX, were re-elected to the board. Taylor replaces outgoing director Clifford Barry of Pin Oak Stud, who served on the organizing board of Horse Country.
"We at Taylor Made are dedicated to changing the game when it comes to fan development," said Taylor. "We believe in this concept and organization. I'm proud to serve and appreciate the support of the membership of Horse Country."
