Description:

Headbands are a fun and easy way to add some color and personality to your summer wardrobe. This great summer accessory is super easy to make! When my friends Holly and Jessica invited me to join them for a Do-It-Yourself, headband-making afternoon, I grabbed my scissors and scrap fabrics and headed over!
We made some adorable headbands, and the best part was … we didn’t even have to use a sewing machine!
Below are some of my favorites with step by step instructions on how to make them:
THE TANK TOP HEADBAND
Materials needed: A tank top from your closet you no longer want to wear and scissors
Time to make: Less than 5 minutes!
Step 1: Cut across from side to side the bottom portion of the tank top (about 6-8 inches in width), leaving the seams attached.

Step 2: Twist twice into a figure 8 at the seams.

Step 3: Just gather the twisted fabric at the loops and put it on! (It’s really that easy!)

BRAIDED HEADBAND
Materials needed: Three strips of your favorite fabric, a rubber band used to pull back hair, and scissors
Time to make: 10 minutes
Step one: Cut three strips of fabric 8 inches longer than the diameter of your head.
Step two: Gather the strips and tie one end of them to a rubber band.
Step three: Braid the pieces together, leaving around 5 inches to spare.
Step four: Tie the other end of the braid to the opposite side of the rubber band.

FLOWER HEADBAND
Materials needed: A dozen silk flowers, thin wire, green wire tape, scissors
Time to make: 30 minutes
Step one: Cut the wire 3 inches longer than the diameter of your head.
Step two: Twist the wire together at the ends, creating a crown that comfortably fits on your head
Step three: With the tape, wrap the wire all the way around to add comfort.

Step four: Pop off the silk flower from its stem and wrap a piece of 4 inch wire around the base.
Step five: Attach the flower to the wire from steps one and two.
Step six: Repeat with remaining flowers.
