Description:

While Admiral Kitten has failed to hit the board in three straight starts, the son of Kitten's Joy   will try to end that skid when he returns to the site of his biggest career win Saturday, July 12 in the $200,000 Arlington Handicap (gr. IIIT) at Arlington International Racecourse.

Last year Admiral Kitten scored a clear victory against other 3-year-olds in the Secretariat Stakes (gr. IT) on the Arlington turf, an effort that followed runner-up finishes in both the Arlington Classic Stakes (gr. IIIT) and the American Derby (gr. IIIT) on the same course.

This year Admiral Kitten opened the season with a neck victory in the John B. Connally Turf Cup Stakes (gr. IIIT) on the turf at Sam Houston Race Park, but he has since fallen off while facing graded stakes competition at Gulfstream Park, Churchill Downs, and Monmouth Park.

Owned and bred by Ken and Sarah Ramsey, Admiral Kitten will be looking for his fourth stakes victory overall when he faces an expected five rivals in Saturday's 1 1/4-mile turf race for 3-year-olds and older. At 122 pounds, he will be the highweight in the local prep race for the Aug. 16 Arlington Million Stakes (gr. IT), a race the Ramseys won last year with Real Solution.

Team Valor International's Infinite Magic, who defeated Admiral Kitten by a head in last year's American Derby, will start from the outside post Saturday. The son of More Than Ready   will be making just his second start of the season after finishing fourth in an allowance-optional claiming race June 14 at Belmont Park | BloodHorse.com Track Profile">Belmont Park.
