First Starter Wins for Indiana Sire Dr Large

Spooled, the first starter for Indiana-based sire Dr Large  , drew off in the stretch for jockey Jeremy Rose to post a 7 3/4-length victory in her career debut, a five-furlong maiden special weight race for Indiana-bred 2-year-old fillies July 12 at Indiana Grand Race Course, formerly called Indiana Downs.

Dr Large, an 8-year-old stakes-winning son of A.P. Indy, stood the 2014 season for $2,000 at Indiana Stallion Station in Anderson.

Amy and James Elliott's Spooled is one of eight foals in Dr Large's first crop. Bred in Indiana by Carmalley Valley Farm, Spooled is out of the Quiet American mare High Draw. Spooled is trained by Barbara McBride.
