Kentucky Oaks (gr. I) winner Untapable will face males in the July 27 William Hill Haskell Invitational (gr. I), trainer Steve Asmussen told Monmouth Park officials July 14.
Racing for owner Ron Winchell, 3-year-old Untapable in her last start June 28 easily won the Mother Goose Stakes (gr. I) at Belmont Park. Her connections after that race said they would consider the Haskell for the Tapit filly's next start.
Untapable worked five furlongs in 1:01 1/5 under Rosie Napravnik at Saratoga Race Course the morning of July 14. Napravnik will again ride the filly in the Haskell.
"I was very pleased with her; she breezed extremely well," Asmussen told Monmouth officials. "Weather permitting, we'll breeze her again (July 21) and then plan to ship her to Monmouth either Wednesday or Thursday of race week."
Serena's Song (1995) and Rachel Alexandra (2009) are the only fillies to have won the Haskell, which is a Breeders' Cup "Win And You're In" event for the grade I Breeders' Cup Classic.
