Breeders' Cup announced July 17 the occupants of six positions on its board of directors.
Stonestreet Farm owner Barbara Banke and Darley executive Dan Pride are newly elected directors that will fill two of four seats carrying four-year terms. WinStar Farm's president Elliott Walden was re-elected for a four-year term, and the fourth position will require a run-off between current board chairman Bill Farish and celebrity chef/owner Bobby Flay.
A run-off election by the 45 Breeders' Cup Members, who select the board of directors, will begin at 9 a.m. July 21 and run through 5 p.m. July 22. The person who receives the most votes will fill the fourth, four-year seat. The runner-up will fill one of two vacant one-year seats on the board.
A second run-off election is being held for the second one-year seat between Gainesway owner Antony Beck and owner/breeder Bruce Lunsford. The winner of this election gets the board seat.
The annual meeting will be reconvened at the Breeders' Cup offices July 23 to finalize the results.
