Animo de Valeroso, a 15-year-old unraced son of Pulpit, has been purchased by Daryl and Sally Duncan and will stand at their Duncan Farms near Warsaw, Ohio. His 2017 fee is $1,000.

Bred in Kentucky by Charles Nuckols Jr. & Sons, Animo de Valeroso is the 10th foal out of grade 1-placed, grade 2 stakes winner Danzig's Beauty, who was bred by Nuckols. She is the dam of leading sire Distorted Humor   (Forty Niner), stakes winner Dancing Gulch (Gulch), and four other winners.

Multiple graded stakes winner Sweetest Chant is Animo de Valeroso's second dam. She also produced stakes-placed winner Miss Importance and multiple stakes producer Chanting Sweetly.

Animo de Valeroso entered stud in 2005 at Fairberry Farm in Illinois, where he stood through 2013. He's stood most recently at Nuckols Farm in Central Kentucky. The sire has 25 winners out of 44 starters to date. His best runner so far is He's Bonafide, who won the Buck's Boy Handicap at Hawthorne Race Course in 2009 and 2010. He's Bonafide is out of the winning Vermont daughter Smog.

Duncan Farms also stands E Z's Gentleman, who is standing his first season in Ohio this year as well. The grade 1-winning, 12-year-old son of Yankee Gentleman  —Tensie's Pro, by Distinctive Pro, stands for $2,500.
