Description:

Maggi Moss' Kiss to Remember, one-for-one on the turf, will seek her second stakes victory in the $200,000 Indiana Grand Stakes for 3-year-old fillies at Indiana Grand Race Course July 23.

The Indiana Grand, at one mile, is one of two grass stakes on the afternoon program. The other is the $100,000 Girls Incorporated of Shelbyville Shelby County Stakes for fillies and mares at 1 1/16 miles.

Both stakes have drawn full fields of 12 with two also-eligible runners. The featured Indiana Grand is race nine on a 10-race program than begins at 2:05 p.m. EDT.

Kiss to Remember, a Big Brown   filly, was claimed by Moss and trainer Tom Amoss for $50,000 in December 2013. In her lone turf start she won the Battle of New Orleans Stakes at 5 1/2 furlongs, and in her last start June 22 wired the field in a seven-furlong allowance test on dirt at Churchill Downs.

The Indiana Grand will mark her first start around two turns. Jeremy Rose, among the meet's leading riders, has the call from post 1 at 119 pounds.

The morning-line favorite is Carl Pollard's Kiss Moon, who finished a troubled fourth (placed third) after stretch interference in the Regret Stakes (gr. IIIT) at Churchill in her last start. Aurelia's Belle, placed first in the Regret, returned to win the Arlington Oaks (gr. III) July 19.

Kiss Moon, a Malibu Moon   homebred filly trained by David Vance, finished second in the grade III Fantasy Stakes on dirt earlier this year. Rodney Prescott has the call from post 4 at 117 pounds.

Trainer Gerald Bennett has twice attempted to run W. Kenan Rand Jr.'s Ice for the Lady on the grass only to have the races moved to the main track. The homebred filly by Flatter  , however, won both those races, including the Northbound Pride Oaks at Canterbury Park in her last start June 15.

In that race, Ice for the Lady finished 1 1/2 lengths ahead of Stellaris, who on July 19 finished a fast-closing second to Aurelia's Belle in the Arlington Oaks. Fernando De La Cruz, the leading rider at Indiana Grand, has the call from post 2 at 119 pounds.
