Zimmer, a stakes-placed son of Empire Maker  —Bella Chiarra, by Phone Trick, has been relocated from Florida to Poplar Creek Horse Center near Bethel, Ohio.

Bred in Kentucky by Jack Mandato and Arthur Hancock III, Zimmer raced from 3 to 9 primarily for Mandato. He compiled a 7-5-3 record out of 30 starts and earned $312,829. Zimmer's best finish was a second in the Joe Hernandez Stakes on the turf at Santa Anita Park.

Mandato contacted Poplar Creek owner Robin Murphy about acquiring Zimmer because her stallion roster included grade 3 winner David Copperfield (Halo), who Mandato also bred and is a half brother to Zimmer's dam and grade 2 winner Bella Chiarra.

"Zimmer has a proven race record and is by hot sire Empire Maker," said Murphy. "Because he is out of a strong female line and is a great physical, he will only enhance the Ohio program. We stand 14 stallions and a son of Empire Maker was on our radar."

Stakes winner Bannockburn (Count Brook), Zimmer's second dam, also produced black-type stakes winner Hollywood Flash and four other black-type stakes horses. She has 10 winners out of 11 foals to race.

Zimmer, who stood his first season in 2016 at Stonewall's Prestige Stallions near Ocala, Fla., will stand for $1,500.
