Stonestreet Stables' homebred Valadorna, runner up in the 2016 14 Hands Winery Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1), will miss the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) and be sidelined the next few months after emerging from an April 1 workout with an injury to her left hind leg.

Valadorna worked five furlongs in 1:00 4/5 at Keeneland Saturday morning in preparation for an expected start for the April 8 Central Bank Ashland Stakes (G1). The daughter of Curlin   initially appeared to cool out in good order but was later discovered to be off in her left hind.

"It's just bad timing, but she'll be just fine," said trainer Mark Casse, who did not specify the exact nature of the injury. "She'll probably miss a few months. The good news is, the veterinarians have looked at it and said she should come back 100%."

Valadorna broke her maiden at Keeneland last October prior to her runner-up effort in the Breeders' Cup behind eventual champion Champagne Room. She won an allowance race in her seasonal bow at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots Jan. 27 and was most recently third behind multiple graded stakes winner Farrell in the Feb. 25 Rachel Alexandra Stakes (G2).
