TOBA Schedules Events in Saratoga Springs

The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is holding two educational events, as well as its annual members meeting in Saratoga Springs, N.Y., during the first week of August.

Here is the schedule of events:

Monday, Aug. 4: Pedigree and Conformation Clinic, Fasig-Tipton Sales Pavilion

Pedigree discussions include general theory, such as in-breeding, out-crossing and nicking, as well as overall conformational factors. The clinic identifies common conformation faults and includes a live conformation workshop with industry leaders. Speakers include Jeffery Cannizzo, Pat Costello, Kyle Degener, Jamie Hill, Dr. Scott Hay, Kenny McPeek, and Suzanne Smallwood.

Wednesday, Aug. 6: TOBA Members Meeting at Courtyard by Marriott

TOBA members wanting to become more informed about TOBA's work in the Thoroughbred industry can attend the open members meeting at 8:30 a.m. (EDT) at the Courtyard by Marriott. No RSVP is necessary.

Thursday, Aug. 7: Thoroughbred Ownership Seminar at Saratoga Race Course

Seminar focuses on the owner/trainer relationship, options for acquiring horses, business topics, online resources, and retirement. The event includes an afternoon of racing at Saratoga for attendees. Speakers include Tom Gallo, Bill Mott, Don Little, Jr., Lincoln Collins, Linda Rice, Bing Bush, Michael Levy, Frank Palino, Erin Crady, and Rick Bailey.
