Five Share Fastest OBS Work Time

Hip 234, a Florida-bred filly from the first crop of Prospective

Five juveniles worked in :09 4/5, the fastest time over an eighth-mile, during the April 18 second session of the under tack show for the Ocala Breeders' Sales 2017 spring sale of 2-year-olds in training. Also, a pair of 2-year-olds breezed in the day's fastest quarter-mile time of :20 4/5.

The following horses shared the fastest eighth-mile works:

■ Hip 211, a City Zip   colt produced from the Argentinian group 3 winner Candy Apple, a half sister to Argentine champion and North American grade 1 winner and leading sire Candy Ride  . Named Pedal Fast, the colt is consigned by Crupi's New Castle Farm, agent.

■ Hip 216, a Curlin   filly bred in Florida, is a half sister to grade 2 winner Blues Street and is out of the stakes-placed Capote mare Capote Blues. Second dam Stormy Blues, by Cure the Blues, won the Matron Stakes (G1). The filly is offered by McKathan Brothers, agent.

■ Hip 259, from agent Julie Davies' consignment, is a Kentucky-bred colt from the first crop of Jimmy Creed   out of the stakes-winning Jade Hunter mare Chitka.

■ Hip 345 is an Illinois-bred daughter of Munnings   named Artistic Diva. Consigned by Price Thoroughbreds, agent, the filly was produced from an unraced Mizzen Mast   mare who is a half sister to multiple stakes winner and grade 1-placed Diva's Diamond.

■ Hip 375, from Rick Lopez Training and Sales, is a Friesan Fire   filly from the extended female family of stakes winners Lady Beaumont, Tim's Crossing, and Gale in the Vale, who was champion imported older mare in Puerto Rico. The Maryland-bred filly is out of the winning Two Punch mare Duck the Punch, who has produced seven winners from nine foals of racing age.

Working the quarter-mile in :20 4/5 were:

■ Hip 234, a Florida-bred filly from the first crop of Prospective   and out of the unraced Tale of the Cat   mare Catomaria. Consigned by Blue River Bloodstock, agent, the filly is from the family of multiple grade 2 winners and millionaires Del Mar Dennis and Forty Niner Days.

■ Hip 377, a colt sired by first-crop sire Violence   out of the unplaced Street Cry mare Dying to Dance. The Kentucky-bred colt consigned by Top Line Sales, agent, is from the female family of multiple European champion Mrs. Penny.

The under tack show continues at 8 a.m. EDT April 19, with Hips 401-600 scheduled to breeze. The sale will be held April 25-28 with sessions beginning at 10:30 a.m. daily.
