Racing at Santa Anita
Santa Anita Park cancelled its live racing for April 27 because of a lack of entries, Santa Anita racing secretary Rick Hammerle said April 23.
Originally scheduled to draw April 22 for the Thursday card, Santa Anita delayed the draw a day in an attempt to fill the races, but the decision to cancel came just before post time Sunday.
"There's nothing fancy about it. It was a lack of entries," Hammerle said. "We'll resume on Friday (April 28)."
Hammerle also said he was not concerned with filling cards for the rest of the meet, which continues until July 4.
