Eric Fein, Christopher McKenna, Harris Fein, Guri Singh, and Jerry Walia's Syndergaard headlines a field of seven 3-year-olds entered for the $100,000 William Walker Stakes April 29, opening night at Churchill Downs.
Saturday's 11-race program begins at 6 p.m. EDT and will kick off the 38-day spring meet that is highlighted by the Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) May 6 and the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) May 5.
Trained by Todd Pletcher, Syndergaard will be making his first start since finishing fifth in the Breeders' Cup Juvenile (G1) at Santa Anita Park Nov. 5. Prior to the Breeders' Cup, the New York-bred son of Majesticperfection ran second in the Oct. 8 Champagne Stakes (G1) at Belmont Park and won the Funny Cide Stakes at Saratoga Race Course Aug. 29.
Also in the field is stakes winner En Hanse, who finished ninth in the JACK Cincinnati Casino Spiral Stakes (G3); and Jan. 21 Pasco Stakes winner The Money Monster, who was pulled up and did not finish last time out in the Lambholm South Tampa Bay Derby (G2).
