Hip 345, a filly by Munnings, sold for $425,000 April 26 at the OBS spring sale

Andro and Tracey Price had the biggest score to date for their pinhooking operation when a Munnings   filly they bought for $67,000 sold for $425,000 during the April 26 second session of the Ocala Breeders' Sales spring sale.

Offered as Hip 345, the filly named Artistic Diva was purchased Wednesday by Lane's End Bloodstock. Bred in Illinois by Asiel Stable, she was produced from the Mizzen Mast   mare Diva N Disguise, a half sister to multiple stakes winner and $739,608-earner Diva's Diamond. The bay filly had the co-fastest eighth-mile breeze show time of :09 4/5 during the April 18 under tack show.

David Ingordo, who signed the sale receipt on behalf of an unidentified client, said the filly will be trained in California by John Sadler.

"She's a special-looking horse," Ingordo said. "She has class, breezed beautifully, and she had a presence. Her performance is what sold her. John (Sadler) said 'trust me, she's the one.'"

"We knew she would sell well," Andro Price said. "She's a lovely filly. It's hard to find a fault with her."

Price said Artistic Diva always had a strong presence and that she has not changed much since she was first purchased from Lane's End at the Fasig-Tipton Kentucky October yearling sale.

"She has always been great. She's the perfect lady. She's big, but gentle. She's one of the best Ilinois-breds I've ever seen," said Price, a retired jockey who previously rode in Illinois.
