Hip 999, a filly by Creative Cause--Santina Dodd, brings $850,000 at the OBS April sale
A Creative Cause filly was purchased by Kaitar Racing for $850,000, the top price early during the April 28 final session of the Ocala Breeders’ Sales spring sale of 2-year-olds in training.
New York-based trainer Linda Rice signed the sale receipt on behalf of Kaitar for the filly foaled Feb. 7, 2015. Produced from the stake-winning El Prado mare Santina Dond, the filly was consigned as Hip 999 by Tom McCrocklin on behalf of Billy Koch and partners’ Solana Beach Sales. Solana Beach had given $100,000 for the filly from the Brereton C. Jones/Airdrie Stud consignment at last year’s Keeneland September yearling sale.
