Named after the first president and chairman of the Monmouth Park Jockey Club, Amory L. Haskell, the Haskell Invitational was made an invitation-only stakes for 3-year olds in 1981 with an original purse of $200,000. 
Monmouth Park’s marquee Grade 1 event, the William Hill Haskell Invitational Stakes, is run for a $1-million purse in 2014.
How do I feel about the 2014 field and how would I spend my $20 betting bankroll for Sunday’s race?
Worry no more, I’ve analyzed each runner below and given you three strategies!
Local runner Encryption looks outclassed here, plain and simple.
Bayern earned a huge Beyer Speed Figure on the Belmont Stakes undercard, but he’s never won beyond 1 mile. He’s training well, but probably will be overbet.

Albano, the runaway winner in the Pegasus Stakes (a Grade 3 local Haskell prep), is in good hands with trainer Larry Jones who’s winning 28% of his starts.
Irish You Well is 2-for-2 at Monmouth Park, where he broke his maiden and then won the Long Branch Stakes, but he looks outclassed. I’m looking to use him in my exotics.
Lightly raced Just Call Kenny ran second off a 7-month layoff in the Long Branch and looks to be live longshot. With “Jersey Joe” Bravo aboard, he could very well be in the mix.
Social Inclusion, dusted by Bayern in his last race, has been working bullets in the mornings like usual, but he has yet to run back to his Gulfstream Park performances from the winter.
Untapable, off of her 9 ¼-length “poetry in motion” win in the Mother Goose Invitational Stakes at Belmont Park last month and undefeated in her last four starts, will no doubt get pace to run at in this race. With trainer Steve Asmussen looking to duplicate Rachel Alexandra’s 2009 win and Rosie Napravnik back on board, she’s the favorite while looking to beat these 3-year-old colts.
Wildcat Red looks good with his 10 1/4-length win off his disastrous Kentucky Derby finish. He rarely fails to fire and looks as game as they come (throwing out Derby). I think his heart could have him there at the end.

Versatile Medal Count, who delivers big performances on multiple surfaces, ran third in the Belmont Stakes could be there again to round out this trifecta.
Sunday will be a great day of racing and I’m looking forward to seeing who earns a spot for the 2014 Breeder's Cup Classic. The Haskell is a Breeder’s Cup Challenge Series “Win and You’re In” race and guarantees the victor a starting spot in the $5-million Classic.

Social Inclusion, hecho polvo por Bayern en su última carrera, ha estado rompiendo relojes en las mañanas, lo cual es usual en él, pero no ha vuelto a reeditar sus actuaciones en Gulfstream Park desde el invierno.

Untapable, luego de su triunfo por 9 ¼-cuerpos en el  Mother Goose Invitational Stakes en Belmont Park el último mes, al estilo de una “poesía en movimiento”, e invicta en sus últimas cuatro actuaciones, tendrá sin duda un desarrollo ideal en esta carrera. Con el entrenador Steve Asmussen tratando de repetir su triunfo con Rachel Alexandra en el 2009 y conRosie Napravnik de regreso en su silla, ella es la favorita en su intento de batir a los potros de tres años de edad.
Wildcat Red lució bien con su triunfo por 10 1/4-cuerpos luego de su desastroso final en el Kentucky Derby . Rara vez ha fallado y luce tan bueno como siempre lo fue (a excepción del Derby). Pienso que su corazón puede tenerlo allí hasta el final.

El versátil Medal Count, quien ha entregado grandes actuaciones en múltiples superficies, llegó tercero en el Belmont Stakes y podría estar nuevamente allí, rondando la trifecta.
