Jason Blewitt to Join Gulfstream Park Broadcast Team

Joins Nicoletti & Courtney Beginning Thursday, May 4

HALLANDALE BEACH, FL - Gulfstream Park announced today that popular handicapper and television host Jason Blewitt will join its broadcast team as co-host and racing analyst beginning Thursday, May 4.

Blewitt will add his unique talents alongside handicapper and co-host Ron Nicoletti and paddock and trackside reporter and handicapper Acacia Courtney during Gulfstream’s spring and summer meet, Championship Meet and Gulfstream Park West meet.

“The addition of Jason to our broadcast team emphasizes Gulfstream and The Stronach Group’s commitment to its coverage of Thoroughbred racing,” said P.J. Campo, Vice President and General Manager of Gulfstream Park and Vice President of Racing for The Stronach Group. “Gulfstream’s daily broadcast is one of the most watched in the country, and our summer racing program continues to grow. Jason has a great passion for Thoroughbred racing - he’s a true fan of the sport - and we look forward to his contributions alongside Ron and Acacia.”

Blewitt, 39, is a native of Floral Park, NY.  He was the recipient of a New York Turf Writers’ scholarship in the summer of 1996 that included an internship at Saratoga Race Course. While attending Long Island University, C.W. Post as a communications major in 1998, Blewitt began working weekends in the Communications Department of the New York Racing Association (NYRA).

Blewitt rose through the television ranks at NYRA. He took over the hosting duties of both “Thoroughbred Action” and “Inside Racing” in January of 2005 and for many years was a daily host and contributor on NYRA’s “Talking Horses” handicapping program.  He switched over to television hosting exclusively in 2008. In 2014 and 2015, Blewitt hosted NYRA’s nightly recap / feature show “Insider.” In 2016, he hosted NYRA’s debut season of “Belmont Park Live” and “Saratoga Live” to rave reviews.

“Thoroughbred racing has been my number-one passion,”  he said. “And, after nearly 20 years working for the New York Racing Association, I still consider myself one of the game’s luckiest fans as I join a world-class brand, product and team at Gulfstream Park. I could not be any more excited, honored or humbled with my new role with The Stronach Group and I will continue to wear my passion for Thoroughbred racing on my sleeve while informing and entertaining the fans.”
