After breezing a brilliant five furlongs July 25 at Gulfstream Park in :58.80, undefeated 3-year-old filly Little Alexis is headed to the $500,000 Test Stakes (gr. I) at Saratoga Race Course.

Racing for trainer Carlo Vaccarezza and Little Dreams Racing, Little Alexis is to ship to upstate New York the week of July 28. The seven-furlong Test is Aug. 2.

Little Alexis, who won Gulfstream's Cash Run July 5, went three eighths in :34 Friday morning before galloping out six furlongs in 1:12 3/5. The bullet move was the quickest of 11 at the distance.

"She did it beautifully," said Vaccarezza, who also trains the multiple grade I winner Little Mike. "She's always been a good filly. When we got her as a 2-year-old I wanted to run her first time out in the Pocahontas (gr. II). People thought I was crazy but I knew she was that type of filly."

The daughter of Mr. Greeley broke her maiden Feb. 9 in her debut against My Miss Sophia, who would go on to win the Gazelle (gr. II) April 5 at Aqueduct Racetrack by 7 1/4 lengths.

Little Alexis, who was sidelined by a stone bruise over the winter after her breaking maiden at Gulfstream, was purchased by Vaccarezza for $32,000.

"She can still run here in a two-other-than or maybe an overnight stakes," he added. "But I think the race (the Test) could pan out for her. There could be a lot of speed and she closes like a freight train."

Vaccarezza, who began training his own horses last winter, does not have a license to race in New York.
