Three vans transporting five candidates for the May 20 Preakness Stakes (G1) arrived at Pimlico Race Course within minutes of each other the afternoon of May 16.
A pair of vans carrying four Preakness horses and others targeting stakes on May 19 and 20 passed through the stable gate at 3:40 p.m. EDT. Kentucky Derby Presented by Yum! Brands (G1) runner-up Lookin At Lee was the first to be unloaded from the first van, followed by his stablemate, 11th-place Derby finisher Hence. The pair of Steve-Asmussen-trained colts flew from Louisville, Ky., along with Doug O'Neill-trained Term of Art, who had boarded a plan in Southern California earlier in the day, and Kenny McPeek-trained Senior Investment.
The third van, which originated from Belmont Park in New York, waited several minutes before Chad Brown-trained Cloud Computing could be unloaded.
Brendan Walsh-trained Multiplier is expected to arrive later in the day following a van ride from Keeneland near Lexington.
