LNJ Foxwoods is hoping the last-out for their promising filly Addictive is a toss and that their $825,000 2-year-old in training purchase will bounced back in the May 21 Selene Stakes (G3) at Woodbine.

Addictive, a 3-year-old daughter of Twirling Candy   out of Felicitee (Menifee), broke her maiden at first asking by 2 1/2 lengths March 5 going a mile on the Tampa Bay Downs turf. She next came back in an April 21 $75,000 allowance race at Aqueduct Racetrack but was never a factor in the 1 1/16-mile test, the same distance as the Selene.

Bred by Mares Rule II in New York, Addictive was bought as a weanling for $50,000 by Machmer Hall at the 2014 Fasig-Tipton New York Fall mixed sale. She next turned up in Nick De Meric's consignment at the 2016 Ocala Breeders' Sales March 2-year-olds in training sale where she breezed a quarter-mile in a hot :20 2/5. She was the fourth-highest priced horse of the sale, purchased by agents Jason Litt and Alex Solis II on behalf of LNJ Foxwoods.

Addictive is trained by Bill Mott and will get a new rider in the Selene with Luis Contreras. The filly is the third foal and third winner of three to race out of Felicitee.

Looking to build on momentum in the Selene is East West Stables' Enstone, a daughter of Tiznow  , who comes into the race off a 2 3/4-length win in the restricted Fury Stakes at Woodbine. Enstone was bred in Ontario by William D. Graham and offered twice as yearling. She was a buy-back both times, bringing final bids of $90,000 at the 2015 Keeneland September sale and then $72,000 at the Fasig-Tipton October sale.

Mark Casse trains Enstone who has won twice and finished second three times out of seven starts. She has won two of the last three starts.

Also coming out of the Fury Stakes is runner-up Financial Recovery and fourth-placed finisher Ghostly Presence

Financial Recovery is a daughter of Street Crywho broke her maiden last October and made her 2017 debut in the Fury Stakes. She was bred in Ontario by Anderson Farms and is co-owned by Anderson Farms and Narola.

Ghostly Presence is an Ontario homebred racing for Chiefswood Stable. The daughter of Ghostzapper  beat Enstone by half a length in the Princess Elizabeth Stakes last fall at Woodbine. Trained by Roger Attfield, the filly is one of three to carry 121 pounds. The others are Gale Force, who broke her maiden last year in the grade 3 Mazarine Stakes but hasn't won since; and, Cindervella, who won the South Ocean Stakes at Woodbine last year. Enstone has been assigned 119 pounds.
