The Bob Baffert-trained duo of Faypien and Noted and Quoted—the top two finishers in the May 14 Angels Flight Stakes—will stretch out and square off once again in the $200,000 Summertime Oaks (G2) June 17 at Santa Anita Park.
Baoma Corp's Faypien had the edge in the seven-furlong Angels Flight, as she prevailed over her stablemate by a half-length, but Speedway Stable's Noted and Quoted has the top-level back class at the Summertime Oaks' 1 1/16-mile distance.
Noted and Quoted, a filly by The Factor , is the only grade 1 winner in the field, but she hasn't returned to the winner's circle since she took the Oct. 1 Chandelier Stakes (G1) at Santa Anita. Faypien, a Ghostzapper filly, stepped up from maiden special weight to stakes company in the Angels Flight, but the Summertime Oaks will be her first start around two turns.

Another Summertime Oaks entrant who has graded success at 1 1/16 miles is Tommy Town Thoroughbreds' It Tiz Well—who, along with stablemate Spooky Woods, will seek a fourth win in the race for trainer Jerry Hollendorfer. Hollendorfer, Baffert, and John Sadler—who has Angels Flight third-place finisher Selcourt entered Saturday—have three wins each in the Summertime Oaks.
It Tiz Well won the March 11 Honeybee Stakes (G3) at Oaklawn Park before she finished a far-back third behind top fillies Paradise Woods and Abel Tasman last time out in the April 8 Santa Anita Oaks (G1).

Other intriguing fillies who also tested top competition are Majestic Quality and Mopotism. Both fillies are grade 2 placed, but have yet to cross the wire first at the graded level.
Majestic Quality ran second behind Farrell as a maiden in the Rachel Alexandra (G2) at Fair Grounds Race Course & Slots before a fifth-place run in the Santa Anita Oaks, but the Quality Road filly finally found her winning stride in her 10th start May 21, when she broke her maiden in a 1 1/16-mile special weight event by 6 3/4 lengths at Santa Anita.
Mopotism is a stakes winner—she won the Island Fashion Stakes at Sunland Park Feb. 26—but also ran second behind budding superstar Unique Bella in the Las Virgenes Stakes (G2) Feb. 5. Since those two February starts, however, she ran fourth in the Santa Anita Oaks and 10th in the Longines Kentucky Oaks (G1) May 5.
Rounding out the field are maiden winners Goseecal and Sheza Chattykat.
