Swagger Jack, a grade 1-winning son of two-time leading sire Smart Strike, saw his first winner June 11 when Swagger Strike drew off to a 2 3/4-length victory in the fifth race at Camarero Race Track.

Swagger Jack stood his initial season at stud at Millennium Farms in Kentucky and was at Nicks Farm in Indiana for his second season. Last year he moved to Dana Point Farm in Pennsylvania and this year he was moved to Xanthus Farm near Gettysburg, Pa. He has eight juveniles from his initial crop, including two starters to date.

Bred by Edward P. Evans and campaigned by Silverton Hill, Swagger Jack won the 2013 Carter Handicap (G1) at Aqueduct Racetrack and earned placings in the Gulfstream Park Handicap (G2) and Gulfstream Park Sprint Championship Stakes (G3) that season. Martin Wolfson trained Swagger Jack.

Out of The Minstrel mare Lyrical Prayer, Swagger Jack is a half-brother to grade 2 winner Tap Dance, dam of stakes winner Mail; and stakes winner Grand Prayer, dam of grade 2 winner Valid and grade 1 winner Malibu Prayer.

As for Sunday's winner, Swagger Strike is campaigned by Establo Villa Real and trained by Luis Ramirez. He completed the 5 1/2-furlong race in 1:08.56 on a fast track. Bred in Kentucky by Diana Shoop, Swagger Strike is out of the Scorpion mare Macchiati.
