Making his first start for trainer Jason Servis, Firenze Fire stalked the pace set by Phonemyposseagain through the turn and then gained a short lead in the stretch before pulling away to win in a time of :58.37. Phonemyposseagain held on for second.
Bred in Florida by his owner Mr. Amore Stable, Firenze Fire is out of the Langfuhr mare My Every Wish, who placed second in both of her only two starts.
Poseidon's Warrior was one of the first stallions to stand at Joe and Helen Barbazon's Pleasant Acres Stallions near Morriston, Fla., entering stud in 2014. He was also the first son of champion sprinter and prominent sire Speightstown to stand in the state.
