The Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association is hosting an Ownership Seminar on July 15 at the Indiana Grand Racing and Casino in Shelbyville, Ind.

The day-long event is being held on the same day as the Indiana Derby and will offer those in town for the state's top day of racing an up close and personal view of Thoroughbred ownership. The audience will have the opportunity to speak with leading owners, breeders, trainers and industry professionals and attend the Indiana Derby. Prior to TOBA's ownership seminar, the Indiana Horse Racing Commission and the Indiana Thoroughbred Breed Development Program will be hosting a marketing and advertising seminar for breeders and owners who want to increase awareness of their farms and breeding programs.

"We are very excited to return to Indiana Grand for the second consecutive year of hosting an ownership seminar in conjunction with their marquee race, the Indiana Derby," said Dan Metzger, president of TOBA.  "Thoroughbred ownership offers unique and rewarding experiences and we are honored to again partner with Indiana Grand to be able to present many of the important topics every potential investor needs to know and learn more about to be successful in our sport."

Topics to be covered are ownership, equine health, provincial incentives and racing programs, sales and breeding, as well as legal and business issues.

The 2017 seminar and clinic schedule and registration are available at www.toba.org. All materials, meals and tickets are included. Advanced registration is encouraged.
