Joe Osborne has worked for Godolphin since 1994
Joe Osborne, who has been acting as the interim chief executive of Godolphin's global operation, will now take the position in a permanent capacity, it was announced June 22.
Osborne has worked for Godolphin since 1994, principally leading the operation in Ireland and the Godolphin Flying Start program, and has been involved in the establishment and development of operations in France, America, Australia, and Japan. He was appointed to the interim position after it was announced June 6 that John Ferguson was stepping down from his role as chief executive and racing manager amid reports of strained relations between himself and trainer Saeed bin Suroor.

"It is an honor to be entrusted with this role and I look forward to working with our global team to achieve racing and breeding success for Sheikh Mohammed and his family," Osborne said in a release.
Word of Osborne's new permanent role comes during an outstanding week for Godolphin during the Royal Ascot meeting. Sheikh Mohammed's silks were carried to victory three times on the opening day of the meet June 20, including Ribchester's win in the Queen Anne Stakes (G1) and Barney Roy's victory the St. James's Palace Stakes (G1). On Thursday, bin Suroor saddled his first winner of the week at Royal Ascot, where Benbatl captured the group 3 Hampton Court Stakes.
