Jump Start shuttled from his home base in Pennsylvania to Argentina for five seasons

Jump Start  's five shuttle seasons to Argentina have made quite an impact, producing two champions and most recently his 50th black-type stakes winner.

Sexy Reasons, a 2-year-old daughter of Jump Start--Sexy Night, by Roy, helped Northview PA's son of A.P. Indy reach his latest milestone by taking the June 25 Clasico Gran Premio Criterium Potrancas (G2) at Maronas in Uruguay. The filly, bred in Argentina by Haras La Esperanza and raced by Macagu Stable, has won four times in five starts. She is the eighth foal and first stakes winner produced by Sexy Night.

Jump Start, 18, only raced as a 2-year-old when he won the 2001 Saratoga Special Stakes (G2) and finished second in the Champagne Stakes (G1) before injury forced his early retirement.

He stood his first six seasons at Overbrook Farm, was at Ghost Ridge Farms for a couple years, and was moved in 2011 to Northview PA, where he stands for $10,000. He previously shuttled to Argentina for the 2009-13 breeding seasons but is no longer shuttling.

Of his 50 black-types stakes winners, 16 have won graded/group stakes and two are champions, both in Argentina: Idolo Porteno, 2015 Horse of the Year, champion older horse, and champion stayer; and Seresta, 2016 champion 2-year-old filly.

He also is the sire of Kentucky-bred graded stakes-winning millionaires Prayer for Relief  , Pants On Fire, and Rail Trip.
