Mythical Mission finishes a length behind Holy Helena in the Woodbine Oaks

Runner up last out in the Woodbine Oaks Presented by Budweiser, Sam-Son Farm homebred Mythical Mission looks to notch her first stakes victory in the $225,000 Bison City Stakes July 9 at Woodbine.

Slated as the 3-5 morning-line favorite, the Malcolm Pierce-trained daughter of Giant's Causeway   hasn't finished worse than third in her five total starts, the last three coming in stakes. In the June 11 Woodbine Oaks, she went four wide in the turn and briefly held the lead in the stretch but was no match for Holy Helena, the eventual Queen's Plate Stakes winner, who finished a length ahead at the wire.

SHEA: Holy Helena Surges to Woodbine Oaks Victory

Mythical Mission is out of the stakes winning Miswaki mare Misty Mission and is a full sister to Canadian champion 3-year-old filly and champion grass mare Irish Mission. She will break from the outside post 6 with jockey Eurico Rosa Da Silva aboard. 

Also lining up Sunday for the 1 1/16-mile second leg of the Canadian Triple Tiara is East West Stables' Enstone, who is the second morning-line choice at 5-2 and will break from post 4 under Patrick Husbands. 

The Tiznow   filly, trained by Mark Casse, won the seven-furlong Fury Stakes at Woodbine by 2 3/4 lengths in April as her 2017 debut. Then, she finished second in the 1 1/16-mile Selene Stakes (G3) before running fourth in the Woodbine Oaks.

Stakes winners Cindervella and Ghostly Presence are entered in Sunday's test for Canadian-bred fillies. Both runners won stakes races at 2, but have failed to place in three starts this year. Last out in the Woodbine Oaks, Cindervella came in fifth while Ghostly Presence finished ninth.
