Green Lantern Stable's Frostmourne will run 1 1/8 miles for the first time in the Kent Stakes

After rallying to a clear victory in the $500,000 Penn Mile Stakes (G2T) June 3 on the turf at Hollywood Casino at Penn National Race Course, Frostmourne will stretch out to 1 1/8 miles for the first time when he again faces other 3-year-olds on the turf in the $200,000 Kent Stakes (G3T) July 15 at Delaware Park.

While Green Lantern Stable's Frostmourne enters off a mile win, and earned his first stakes win at that distance in the Awad Stakes in October at Belmont Park, the son of Speightstown   earned a score going 1 1/16 miles in his career debut last year at Saratoga Race Course.

Awaiting Frostmourne will be Master Plan, who enters off a victory in the June 10 Stanton Stakes, a 1 1/16-mile local prep for the Kent. Campaigned by a partnership that includes WinStar Farm, Al Shaqab Racing, and China Horse Club International, Master Plan has competed in some top dirt races, earning a third in this year's UAE Derby Sponsored by the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group (G2)—but the son of Twirling Candy   has earned his stakes wins on turf in the Stanton and on synthetic in the OBS Championship Stakes (colts and geldings division).

Also coming out of the Stanton is that race's fourth-place finisher, Zinger, a half-brother to last year's Delaware Handicap (G1) winner I'm a Chatterbox. Fletcher and Caolyn Gray's Zinger has finished fourth in both of his stakes tries, but trainer Larry Jones believes the son of The Factor   is improving.

"We did not get the trip we would have liked to have had in our last, but I do not know how much difference that would have made in the outcome," Jones said. "It definitely looked like Master Plan had everything measured, but we do hope to get a cleaner trip. He is I'm a Chatterbox's little brother. We just hope he continues to keep stepping his game up. He seems to be improving all the time. He is training well right now, so we are just hoping for good things."
